Step 2 : To Remove Qone8.com from Internet Explorer

  • Open Internet Explorer. Click on Tools menu (If tools menu doesn’t appear then press “F10” key once to active the menu bar), click on Internet Option. A internet option window will open.
  • Click on General tab, Change your homepage from www. Qone8.com to www.google.com, then click on apply and OK.
  • Now Restart Internet explorer. You will get your homepage changed.

Remove Qone8.com from registry

  • Click on Start button –> click on Search Bar –> then type REGEDIT then hit Enter button. A Registry Editor window will be opened.
    • For XP users click on Start –> Click on Run –> Type REGEDIT in run box then click on OK.
  • In registry editor click on Edit menu –> Click on find. You will get edit box, type “ Qone8.com” in this edit box then click on Find Next.
  • You will get first result. that result would be highlighted which have the string Qone8.com. Edit that key and change that string from “ Qone8.com” to “google.com“.
  • You can delete the registry entry if you found suspicious.
  • Use F3 key to find Next. Replace all the entries from “ Qone8.com” to “google.com”.
  • Now Restart your computer.

  • Open Internet explorer and then click on Tools menu (Press “F10” key once to active the menu bar) –> Click on Internet option (For IE8).
    • For IE9, IE10. Click on gear icon –> then go to Internet option.
  • Once you clicked on Internet option you will get an internet option window –> Click on Advanced tab –> Click on RESET button. You will get a another popup.
  • Tick mark a check box which says Delete personal setting then click on RESET button on this popup.
  • Now you will get a another popup which shows you all the tasks are completed or failed. After completion, click on close button.
  • Reset process has been finished if you get all the tasks with green tick marks.

Step 3 : To Remove Qone8.com from Mozilla Firefox

  • Open Firefox. Click on Tools menu (If tools menu doesn’t appear then press “F10” key once to active the menu bar) then click on Options, after that a configuration window will appear, then click on General tab and then look on the very first section named as Startup. Under Startup you will get a HOME PAGE Edit Box, under this edit box you will see www. Qone8.com, please replace it to www.google.com, then click on OK.
  • Restart Firefox Browser

Remove Qone8.com from Firefox configuration file.

  • Open Firefox
  • Type about:config in the address bar then hit enter to open this page.
  • You will get a prompts, so click on “I’ll be carefully, I promise” button.
  • Now you will get a configuration page with search option on the top, so type “ Qone8.com” into search bar, you will get all the results.
  • Right click on them and then choose RESET option one by one.
  • If you find any their value as “ Qone8.com” then you can replace it to “google.com“.

Step 4 : To Remove Qone8.com from Google Chrome

  • Start Google Chrome, click on Settings icon (Located in very top right side of the browser), click on Settings. You will get a configuration page.

  • In the same configuration page click on ‘Manage search engines‘ button. Delete all the search engines from there, jusy keep only www.goole.com as your default search Engine.

  • Close Google Chrome.
  • Now open following path.
    • Press “window key + R” (Flag sign key + R), then you will get Run box.
    • Copy following command as per your operating system.
    • Copy below line if you have Windows XP.
      %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
    • Copy below line if you have Windows 7, 8, Vista.
      %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
  • Paste it, into Run box, then hit Enter or OK. A file location will open up.
  • In this default folder, find a file named as “Preferences“ and rename this file from “Preferences“ to “Preferences.old”.
  • In this default folder, find a one more file named as “Web Data“ and rename this file from “Web Data“ to “Web data.old“.
  • Now Start Google chrome.
  • Finished

    oh no, spoke to soon. I restarted my browser and the qone8 thing came up again. Although, now when I open other tabs it no longer has qone8 but it is still its main webpage when you open up mozilla. So are the above programs that we can install, successful most of the time for removing this stubben virus? Would really love this removed! have no idea what it is doing to my computer and how i even got it!

    An easier way to get rid of it without installing any programs is to go into properties and remove it from the target field, there should only be “C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” in the field, where as it also has the address for qone8 as well.

    I can’t seem to change “web data” to “web data.old” A pop up keeps coming stating “action cannot be completed because the file is opened in google chrome.” but i’ve closed my chrome. How?

      It happens because some files remains active even after closed the google chrome. To successfully do that, please reboot your computer once and then try to rename “Web data” (Note: Do not start Google chrome after reboot). It should be done.

    This virus had infected the registry in several lines, so it was not enough to change or delite Qone8 from the start lines or as a web seartcher. When restarting the LAP it came up as the prefered WEB-seartcher with its own adw.site every time. After I had delited or changed every suspicious line in the Registry and used 2 hours, i finally used Adwere Removal Tool 3.7 and this removed the rest. When restarting it all was back to normal. Thanks to the team!!

    Hii Thank you soo much. Qone8 ads and the pop ads were a nightmare for a long time. I didn’t what to do until I saw this.
    I used Adwcleaner and Malwarebytes to clean, but there’s still one thing that I’m unsure about. When I use Google to search, ads come up in the search results page. Is this normal or is it caused by some virus that are still left?

    thank you so much! some of my relatives kept borrowing my laptop for schoolwork and I think one of their siblings installed that damned qone8, so I had no idea how it got installed and what did he specifically installed. I tried uninstalling all of the softwares in my comp that I know I didn’t install but it kept comming back.
